Dr. MacKenzie Sidwell is a licensed psychologist, nationally certified school psychologist, board certified behavior analyst, and an Assistant Professor in School Psychology at Mississippi State University. Dr. Sidwell earned a doctorate in School Psychology from Mississippi State University and completed a pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Houston, Texas. After working as a school psychologist in the public school setting, Dr. Sidwell entered her first academic position in 2019 and joined the faculty at Mississippi State University in 2022. Dr. Sidwell leads the SIDLab research team which focuses its efforts on serving individuals with disabilities through conducting research projects that focus on increasing efficiency of academic, behavioral, and caregiver-mediated interventions through various techniques including brief experimental analyses, AI-generated intervention materials, and single-case design progress monitoring techniques. Additionally, Dr. Sidwell also engages in research surrounding school psychology training issues. To support the training of future school psychologists, Dr. Sidwell teaches courses across the psycho-educational comprehensive evaluation process and delivery of academic interventions. Further, Dr. Sidwell supervises school psychology practicum that provides comprehensive services in local school districts, Summer Academic Clinic, and the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic (ADDC).
